We would like to extend an invitation  for you to participate with our family’s 2025 annual reading challenge.  As a family of four we are planning to read at least one hundred books over the course of 2025.  For every book we read we plan to sponsor ourselves and donate $1 USD for Happy Horizon’s Children’s Ranch (HHCR) in Cebu, Philippines.  HHCR is caring for girls who have been rescued from human trafficking and sexual exploitation.  People may participate with us by pledging support for either a  member of our family or for all of us  at $1 or more for each book we read.  We will make monthly updates with the total number of books and pages each one of us have read for the month.

You may also consider joining us as a reading participant and raise donations from your own circle of influence.  Let’s read our way to making a difference in the lives of the girls whose lives are being rescued and restored.

Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch - HHCR

HHCR is a long term residential home for children rescued from sexual abuse, human trafficking, and exploitation in the Philippines. There are currently 50 children from ages 4 years old to 21 years old living at HHCR. Each child has overcome difficult and unique situations. At HHCR we believe that a life long relationship with Jesus Christ is the best path for true hope and healing. Each child has a safe place to sleep, 3 healthy meals a day, and a high quality Christian education. The children are surrounded by loving Filipino teachers, dorm parents, and social workers. Together they share the responsibility of helping the child overcome their next challenges in life including healing from past trauma, and moving forward in their educational journey. We believe each child has the right to dream and to pursue those dreams freely!
